What problem does Download Clusters as CSV File solve?

Ancestry’s new clustering feature offers valuable insights into how groups of DNA matches are all related to the tester and each other. Download Clusters as CSV File allows you to download a list of all the matches in any Ancestry cluster group, so you can analyze this data in external applications like a Excel or AI platforms.

How does Download Clusters as CSV File work?

With Download Clusters as CSV File, a new button titled Download CSV appears at the top of each cluster list on the Ancestry DNA clusters page. Clicking this button will automatically download a CSV file of all the people appearing in the cluster.

The resulting CSV file has the following columns:

  • First Match
  • First Match GUID
  • First Match URL
  • Second Match
  • Second Match GUID
  • Second Match URL
  • Shared cM
  • Shared Segments
How do I use Download Clusters as CSV File?
  • Ensure Download Clusters as CSV File is enabled in the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel.
  • Navigate to the Ancestry Clusters page from your DNA matches list.
  • Expand any cluster from the list and click the Download CSV button.
  • A CSV file containing the cluster data will be saved to your default downloads location.
