How does MyHeritage Highlight DNA Matches 25cM+ work?
On your MyHeritage DNA matches list, the shared cM value and shared percentage of any match sharing 25cM or more is automatically displayed in bold red text at a larger size. The 25cM default can be changed to whatever threshold suits your research. A small open-in-new-tab icon also appears next to each cM value, and clicking the cM value opens DNA Painter’s Shared cM Tool in a new tab with that value pre-filled.
The size of each match’s family tree is also emphasized in larger bold text on the match card, so you can quickly see which matches have a substantial tree to compare against and which do not.
How do I use MyHeritage Highlight DNA Matches 25cM+?
- Ensure MyHeritage Highlight DNA Matches 25cM+ is enabled in the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel.
- Navigate to your DNA matches list on MyHeritage.
- Matches sharing 25cM or more will appear in bold red text, and the family tree size on every card will be emphasized in larger bold text.
- To change the cM threshold:
- Open the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel.
- Click the settings icon to the right of MyHeritage Highlight DNA Matches 25cM+. This opens the Advanced Settings page at the DNA Match Highlighting section.
- Enter your desired value in the MyHeritage DNA Matches field. The setting saves automatically.
- Reload your MyHeritage matches page to apply the new threshold.
