How does MyHeritage Add Select All Button to Shared Matches work?

On any MyHeritage shared matches page, a new Select matches button is added to the top of the list along with a small input field labelled pages. Enter how many pages you want to load, click the button, and Genealogy Assistant pages through the shared matches list and ticks every checkbox as it goes. A progress overlay shows how many matches have loaded, then how many have been selected, and includes a Stop button that works during both stages. Once the selection is complete the button changes to Deselect All, which clears every checkbox and shows a progress overlay of its own. A drop-down arrow next to the button opens a Select triangulated option, which loads the same pages but ticks only the shared matches that are triangulated and leaves the rest unchecked. If none of the loaded shared matches are triangulated, the overlay tells you that none were found.

MyHeritage redraws the whole list every time a single match is selected, so a list of several thousand takes a long time and the tab can use several GB of memory while it runs. The memory is released when it finishes. The first time you start a run of more than 1,000 matches you will see a one-time notice explaining this, with a Never show this again button. How quickly pages are loaded is controlled by the Download speed setting in Advanced Settings, and a slower setting can finish a long list sooner because MyHeritage throttles a list that is requested too quickly.

How do I use MyHeritage Add Select All Button to Shared Matches?

• Ensure MyHeritage Add Select All Button to Shared Matches is enabled in the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel.
• Open any DNA match on MyHeritage and view their shared matches.
• In the input field next to the Select matches button, enter the number of pages you want to load. Leave it empty or enter all to load every page.
• Click Select matches. A progress overlay will appear and step through each page, ticking every checkbox.
• To select only triangulated shared matches, click the drop-down arrow next to the Select matches button and choose Select triangulated. The same page count applies, and only the triangulated matches on the loaded pages are ticked. If none of the loaded shared matches are triangulated, the overlay tells you that none were found.
• To stop while pages are still loading, click Stop in the overlay. Genealogy Assistant then selects whatever has loaded so far. Click Stop a second time to end the selection early, and everything already ticked stays ticked.
• When the process finishes, the button changes to Deselect All. Click it to untick every checkbox, and click Stop if you want to end that early too.
• To change how quickly pages are loaded:
  • Open the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel and click Edit advanced settings at the bottom.
  • Open the Download Options section and set Download speed to Standard, Walk or Crawl.
  • Reload the MyHeritage page. Settings save as soon as you change them.
