What problem does Clusters Table Readability Enhancements solve?
On Ancestry’s Clusters page, the column headers are the names of your DNA matches written at an angle, and finding the intersection of two particular matches in a large grid means running your finger from the row on the left to the column at the top without losing your place. Clusters Table Readability Enhancements makes the grid easier to read by turning the column headers vertical, repeating the row names in the header, and highlighting the row and column of whichever cell you are hovering.
How does Clusters Table Readability Enhancements work?
On the AncestryDNA Clusters page, the column headers are rotated to read straight down instead of on an angle, which makes long match names easier to read and stops headers from overlapping each other. Each column header also shows the same name as its matching row so you can line up the grid without scanning diagonally. Hovering any cell highlights its row and column so you can see exactly which two matches share the cell you are looking at, and the rest of the grid dims so there is no visual noise competing for attention.
How do I use Clusters Table Readability Enhancements?
- Ensure Clusters Table Readability Enhancements is enabled in the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel.
- Open the AncestryDNA Clusters page and run a cluster.
- Hover any cell in the grid to highlight its row and column. The rest of the grid will dim so the pair is easy to read.
