MyHeritage Highlight Mutual Matches 50cM+ shows the larger cM amounts on a MyHeritage match’s shared matches list in bold red, so the strongest mutual relatives stand out. Without it, every shared match looks the same until you stop to read each number.

How does MyHeritage Highlight Mutual Matches 50cM+ work?

On the shared matches of any MyHeritage DNA match, each row shows two cM amounts: what the shared match shares with you, and what they share with the match you are viewing. Each amount at or above your threshold, 50 cM unless you change it, is shown larger and in bold red.

Amounts below the threshold keep MyHeritage’s usual look. Every amount also gets a small open-in-new-tab icon: click an amount to open DNA Painter’s Shared cM Tool in a new tab with it already filled in, to see which relationships it fits. Shared matches added with Show more DNA Matches are highlighted as they load.

How do I use MyHeritage Highlight Mutual Matches 50cM+?

In the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel, make sure Highlight Mutual Matches 50cM+ is turned on.
Open one of your MyHeritage DNA matches and scroll down to its shared matches. Amounts at or above 50 cM are shown in bold red.
To change the threshold, click the settings icon next to Highlight Mutual Matches 50cM+ in the pop-up panel. Advanced Settings opens at DNA Match Highlighting.
Type a new number in MyHeritage Mutual Matches. It saves as soon as you click away from the box.
Reload the match page to see the new threshold.
