What problem does Add Percentage to Origins Regions solve?
On Ancestry’s Origins (Ethnicity) page, each macro region (Northwestern Europe, Eastern Europe, West Africa, and so on) lists its sub-regions with a percentage next to each one, but the macro region itself does not show a total. To find out what percentage of your overall ethnicity is “Northwestern Europe” you have to add the sub-regions by hand. Add Percentage to Origins Regions calculates each macro region’s total and shows it next to the region name.

On your AncestryDNA Origins page, the percentages of every sub-region inside a macro region are added together and displayed in brackets next to the macro region name. Every macro region on the page gets a total, so the full breakdown of where your DNA comes from is visible at a glance without any math.

- Ensure Add Percentage to Origins Regions is enabled in the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel.
- Open your AncestryDNA Origins page. The total percentage for each macro region will appear next to its name.
