What problem does MyHeritage DNA Painter Shared cM Tool Button solve?

MyHeritage DNA Painter Shared cM Tool Button adds a button to MyHeritage DNA match pages that opens DNA Painter’s Shared cM Tool, with the shared cM already filled in. Without it, you copy the number, open DNA Painter in another tab and paste it in.

How does MyHeritage DNA Painter Shared cM Tool Button work?

On the page of any MyHeritage DNA match, a View on DNA Painter’s Shared cM Tool button is added under the shared DNA details at the top. Click it and DNA Painter opens in a new tab with the match’s shared cM entered, showing which relationships fit and how likely each one is.

The shared matches further down the page can be checked the same way: with MyHeritage Highlight Mutual Matches 50cM+ turned on, click any of their cM amounts. On your matches list, MyHeritage Highlight DNA Matches 25cM+ does the same for every match.

How do I use MyHeritage DNA Painter Shared cM Tool Button?

In the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel, make sure DNA Painter Shared cM Tool Button is turned on.
Open one of your MyHeritage DNA matches.
Click View on DNA Painter’s Shared cM Tool under the shared DNA details. DNA Painter opens in a new tab with the shared cM filled in.
