How does Index Ancestry Family Tree in Quick Search work?
With Index Ancestry Family Tree in Quick Search, a button is added to the List of All People page for your family trees labelled Index for Quick Search. Clicking this button will index all the people in the tree, allowing you to open their profiles by typing their name into the Quick Search box.
How do I use Index Ancestry Family Tree in Quick Search?
- Ensure Index Ancestry Family Tree in Quick Search is enabled in the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel.
- Navigate to the List of All People page for the tree you would like to add to the index, located in the Find in Tree sidebar.
- Click the Index People button to start the process of indexing all people in your family tree.
- When you update your tree, return to this page and click the Reindex People button to update your index.
- From any page, open Genealogy Assistant’s Quick Search (ctrl + /) toolbar and search for a person by name.
- Select the correct person from the auto-complete list with your arrow keys and hit enter to open that person’s profile.
