  • The Genealogy Assistant popup panel is opened by clicking the extension’s icon in your browsers toolbar. This displays a window containing all of the features, tools and configurable settings available. By default, all features in Genealogy Assistant are enabled by default.

Opening DNA Matches on Ancestry

With the latest update to Genealogy Assistant, you can now navigate directly to either the Trees tab or the Shared Matches tab of your DNA matches based on where you click.

Updates to Advanced Research Tools in Genealogy Assistant

One setting needs to be changed for existing users!

Ancestry has changed their profile pages to include a “sticky” header when scrolling. We have updated our Advanced Research Tools menu to work seamlessly with this new layout, on both your own tree and others.

With this update, Ancestry’s research tools must be enabled enabled by visiting any profile page and clicking on the “Tools” menu, then selecting “Show research tools”.
