What problem does LivingDNA: Download Shared Matches as CSV solve?
Shared matches are how you work out which side of your family a relative belongs to, but LivingDNA shows them ten at a time with no way to save the list. LivingDNA: Download Shared Matches as CSV adds a download button beside the shared matches heading that saves everyone you have in common with a match to a single spreadsheet.
How does LivingDNA: Download Shared Matches as CSV work?
A button titled Download CSV is added beside the shared matches heading on any LivingDNA match profile. Clicking it saves every relative you have in common with that person to a CSV file, including the estimated relationship, the number of segments you share, and the largest segment in centimorgans.
The whole list is collected at once, so you do not need to click through the pages of shared matches yourself, and nothing is missed if the list runs to several pages. A progress overlay reports how many shared matches have been collected out of the total, with a Cancel Download button if you want to stop early.
Every row also records who the comparison was against, in the Also Matches and GUID of Match columns. That means you can download the shared matches for several relatives, combine the files into one spreadsheet, and still tell which download each row came from. The filename includes both your name and the name of the match you were viewing.
How do I use LivingDNA: Download Shared Matches as CSV?
- Ensure LivingDNA: Download Shared Matches as CSV is enabled in the Genealogy Assistant pop-up panel.
- Open your LivingDNA relatives list at Family Matching, then Relatives List.
- Click View Profile on any match to open their profile page.
- Scroll down to the Relatives you have in common section. It takes a few seconds to load.
- Click Download CSV beside the heading. The progress overlay shows how many shared matches have been collected. Click Cancel Download to stop early.
- When the download completes, the CSV file will be saved to your downloads folder.

The cM and segment values describe how much DNA each shared match has in common with you, not with the match whose profile you are viewing. Some columns depend on what each person has chosen to share, so haplogroups and dates are only filled in where LivingDNA holds them.
