Ancestry Match List Sorting lets you choose whether your AncestryDNA match list opens with your newest matches first or your closest. Ancestry always opens it by closest relationship, so checking for new matches otherwise means changing the sort on every visit.
The choice is a switch called Default DNA Match List Sorting in the AncestryDNA Tools section of the pop-up panel.
Ancestry Shared Matches Sorting opens every match’s Shared Matches tab on AncestryDNA in the order you choose once in the pop-up panel. With Match, the people who share the most DNA with the match you opened come first. Without it, the tab opens in Ancestry’s order and you change the sort for each match.
The Surname Comparison Tool collects the surnames from the trees of the DNA matches you choose and lists the ones they share, with the matches who carry each one. Ancestry compares your tree with one match at a time, so finding a surname common to several matches means reading every tree yourself.
Add Select All Button to Matches List adds a Select All button to your AncestryDNA match list. It ticks every match on the page and opens Ancestry’s groups sidebar. Without it, putting a page of matches into a group means ticking each match by hand.
Select All Button for Shared Matches adds a Select All button to the Shared Matches tab of an AncestryDNA match. One click ticks every shared match on the page, so you can add them all to a group at once. Without it, Ancestry makes you tick each match one at a time.
Highlight DNA Matches by cM shows the shared cM of your closer AncestryDNA matches in bold red and colours each match’s side, so your best leads stand out as you scroll. Without it, every match looks the same until you stop to read its numbers and the small grey side label.
Highlight Shared Matches by cM shows the larger cM values on an AncestryDNA match’s Shared Matches tab in bold red, so the strongest shared matches stand out as you scroll. Without it, you have to read two numbers on every row to find them.
Download Matches Pages as CSV File adds a Download CSV button to your AncestryDNA match list that saves your matches to a CSV file for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Ancestry has no way to export the list, so without it every match has to be copied off the screen.
